The Heart of Sand Mountain is more than just a tourism site — it’s a celebration of Albertville, Alabama, and everything that makes this area special. The City of Albertville brought us in to create a platform that could shine a spotlight on local attractions, small businesses, events, and experiences — a single destination that tells the story of the city and encourages people to explore what’s right here in their backyard.
As locals ourselves, this project meant a lot to us. We grew up here. We live here. And getting the chance to shape how our city presents itself to visitors and residents alike has been a true passion project.
Defining the Look and Feel
Setting the Tone Through Branding
We started the project where we always do — with the identity. The City needed a brand that felt vibrant, welcoming, and distinctly local. Something that could speak to both lifelong residents and first-time visitors. It had to feel official enough to represent the city, but personal enough to capture the warmth, character, and charm of life on Sand Mountain.
Building the Website
Showcasing Albertville to Locals and Visitors Alike
Once the brand was in place, we turned our focus to building the website — the digital home for all things Albertville. The goal was clear: create a welcoming, easy-to-navigate platform where people could discover local events, explore attractions, find places to eat and stay, and connect with the businesses that make this city unique.
We structured the site around the idea of exploration. Each section — from parks and trails to restaurants and shops — was built to highlight the city's personality while making it easy for users to find what they're looking for. We designed with both visitors and residents in mind, ensuring the experience feels fresh, local, and useful no matter who’s browsing.
The result is a modern, mobile-friendly tourism site that brings visibility to the heart of Albertville — and gives the city a powerful tool to promote growth, community pride, and small business engagement.
